IHI Initiatives
In addition to focused work for Medicare and other clients, VHQC promotes quality improvement and patient safety statewide as co-convener (with the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association) of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's Virginia Node.
More than 50 Virginia hospitals participated in the recently completed "5 Million Lives" campaign, which included interventions targeting surgical site infections, pressure ulcers, ventilator-associated pneumonia, MRSA infections and other clinical topics. We congratulate these hospitals on their success, which many of them were willing to share in Protecting Virginians From Harm, a publication for healthcare professionals.
