VHQC's commitment to health quality extends to a wide range of related services.
Virginia's statewide Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center is another example of how VHQC is leading the way to better healthcare. Through grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, primary care practitioners in small practices that treat predominantly uninsured, underinsured or disadvantaged patients may receive direct, local assistance to implement electronic health records and attain "meaningful use" — positioning themselves for Medicare or Medicaid payment incentives.
