Area Managers (Home Based)
Area Managers are needed to work on-site with healthcare providers in quality improvement services related to patient safety and prevention topics. This is an excellent opportunity to apply quality improvement principles and work directly with healthcare providers to improve patient care.
VHQC Area Managers will:
1) Provide on-site consultative services to healthcare providers in hospitals, nursing homes, and physician office practices;
2) Implement system and process changes for improved patient care and safety;
3) Develop relationships with clinical and leadership staff; and
4) Coordinate plans of action for improvement using evidenced-based intervention strategies.
 
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and design and implement improvement plans of action. Subject matter expertise in the following areas are most desirable:
1) Wound Care Management
2) Infection Control
3) Health Information Technology
4) Quality Improvement
 
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and or experience preferred. Desired course of studies may include healthcare or related field. Clinical background a helpful asset. Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and their practical application preferred.
Minimum of three to five years health-related project management and quality improvement experience required. Ability to travel between healthcare providers including hospitals, nursing homes, physician office or other healthcare settings.

Director of Clinical Review Services
Experienced professional sought to lead its clinical review services activities.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this professional will ensure quality and timeliness of all case reviews (utilization and quality review; DRG validation). The Director will also function as a member of the leadership team.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, health or nursing administration. Master’s degree preferred. Licensure as a Registered Nurse is preferred. The director should also possess 5-7 years of management and clinical experience.

Clerical Support
Individual needed with clerical and great customer service telephone skills to work part-time (20 hours per week).
Responsibilities:
This position will assist by gathering information and discussing issues with Medicare beneficiaries and healthcare providers.
Requirements:
Position requires intermediate proficiency in MS Office.  Healthcare experience preferred.

Nurse Reviewer (RN)
Virginia Health Quality Center (www.vhqc.org) has an opportunity for clinical professionals to work on a PRN basis (up to 20 hours per week). We are seeking dynamic individuals with strong clinical case review and utilization management skills.
Responsibilities:
You will work as part of a team to manage a variety of case review types including medical necessity, appropriateness, DRG Validation and quality of care.
Requirements:
Successful candidates must possess one – three years experience with QA/UR/UM and must demonstrate technical proficiency with MS Office. Individual must also possess the ability to work independently while managing timeliness and deadlines.
